Scheduling Your Exam

Physician Referral

All imaging exams require a referral from an attending physician that is providing ongoing treatment and care for the patient. Exam results will be communicated directly to the referring physician, who will then review these results with the patient.

Insurance & Payment Verfication

We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and most insurances and managed care plans. We will work with your referring physician to secure prior authorization, if required. Deductibles and co-insurance will be collected at the time of the exam. We also offer discounts for self-paying patients.

Check out the Billing & Payments section of our website for more information about our financial policies.

Your Exam Appointment

The following steps will help you know what to expect during your appointment at our imaging facility.

  • Prior to Arrival

Before arriving at the imaging facility you should carefully follow any relevant patient preparation instructions (please see the links above). Correct preparation for your imaging study is very important. Be aware that our exam rooms can sometimes be cool, so we suggest that you wear warm, comfortable clothing or layers.

  • Patient Registration

Once at the imaging center, you will be asked to complete the necessary paperwork to begin your procedure. Be sure to bring your insurance cards and government ID with you.

  • Safety Screening (and PET/CT Uptake)

Prior to your imaging exam, you will be screened by a nurse or technologist to ensure that you are safe to undergo your scheduled exam. If you are having a PET/CT study, you will then receive an intravenous radioisotope injection and will be asked to rest quietly for approximately 60 minutes. After this resting period, you will empty your bladder and the technologist will escort you into the scanner room where you will lie down on the PET/CT scanner table.

  • Imaging Exam

You will meet one of our wonderful technologists, whose primary concern is your care and well-being. Our technologists have all completed a rigorous course of education and training, and they work under the close supervision of our radiologists to secure the most accurate results from your exam. Prior to the start of your exam, the technologist will explain the relevant procedure to you. This is done for two reasons: to put your mind at ease as to what is taking place and to ask for your cooperation. All you will need to do is simply follow the instructions of the technologist as your exam is then performed for a relaxed and successful exam.

  • Patient Discharge

Upon completion of the exam, our staff will assist you with gathering your belongings and returning to the waiting area. You will be given a patient satisfaction survey to share with us your thoughts about the service we provided. After our radiologist has reviewed your exam, a detailed report will be provided to your referring physician to review with you on your next scheduled appointment.

"I was made very comfortable. Instead of a dreaded experience, your staff turned it into a pleasant and positive experience! You are all very dear people, and I appreciate you all."One of Our Wonderful Patients
